Do not limit yourself to a single database type! The app allows you to use the majority of SQL database types, not to mention MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or higher), PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and Oracle (8i or +).
When you say feature-rich I hear cluttered. I don't want a tool that does everything, there's the cli for that. I want a tool to help me visualize things and build queries and sub-queries.
For the purposes of this lesson, all we care about are databases and tables. For this specific lesson, we're using a database which has a single table, so it's no different than opening a Workbook in Excel and having just a single tab/sheet.

Is that the reason you consider it one of the worst UI's you've ever used? To be fair, the UI does tell you that it's showing e.g. "5 of 6" databases next to the connection name. If you click on that text, you get the same Manage Shown Schemas dialog.
SQLPro Studio offers you the possibility to work with multiple database types via the same user interface. The utility allows you to connect to MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, and Postgres databases and can be used to run custom queries on multiple tables.

SQLPro is a 100% native macOS application. All code is written in Objective-C with some C scattered in for underlying database library communication.
When running large queries the application tends to hang. It would be excellent if a large query could be run in the background while other tasks are completed or at least show a progress bar instead of an indefinite spinner that gives no indication of how far along in the process it is.
